Using the guidebook, Lifting As They Climbed: Mapping a History of Black Women on Chicago’s South side, this workshop will give educators the opportunity to explore how to utilize unique local resources, community landmarks and interactive tools to ignite an interest in history within students of all ages. Workshop participants will also learn how to use self-guided tours to discover the hidden histories of their communities.
