Shah and Ginwright (see FYCO.org) share important evidence on the power of youth community organizing (YCO). YCO builds transformative leaders and can promote healing and healthy development in young people. Yet we lack a system—a pipeline to that develops young people holistically and as activists. The assembly’s four sectors will address this: Teachers, students, organizers, and scholars. They will plan and
grow a sustainable network of relationships that transition young people from social justice studies in the classroom to activism and well-being in their communities.
