Rebecca Irby & Amanda Faison - PEAC Institute
Saturday 7/13/2019 - 11:15am to 12:45pm - Room: Blegan 415
Rising Out Of The Shadows (ROOTS): Using Difficult History to Teach Empath ROOTS was inspired by the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. We'll walk through the curriculum as is so educators get a feel for the structure. We will then work as a group to discuss other moments in history which can be used to connect students to others and themselves. Educators will walk out with an empathy building curriculum, which fulfills core standards, that connects to issues important to them and their students.
