Don’t sleep on this line up of some of the Twin Cities’ finest, including a special dance set to move together! The Cedar is in the heart of the Cedar Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis, on the West Bank of the Mississippi, just a short walk or ride away from UMN’s campus. There are many restaurants and other night spots to check out while you’re there.

Midwest Mixed is a group of Twin Cities community members and friends all dedicated to making space for courageous conversations about race and other measures of identity. They approach their work using creative and fine art to express what words cannot. The goal of MWM is not to divide, but to provide safer spaces to move deeply into our authentic selves. They are hosting their biennial conference in Minneapolis this weekend, July 12-14!

Tall Paul

Tall Paul is an Anishinaabe and Oneida Hip-Hop artist enrolled on the Leech Lake reservation in Minnesota. Born and raised in Minneapolis, his music strongly reflects his inner-city upbringing. From personal expressions of self, to thought provoking commentary on issues affecting Indigenous and diverse communities as a whole, Tall Paul’s music evokes a wide variety of substance and soul. Izell Pyramid

Izell Pyramid is a twin cities based music group comprising of two siblings. One works the mic as the lead vocalist and the other accompanies them with beats they self-produce as well as guitar and supporting vocals. They have kept rather quiet about their public persona, but the community is on the lookout for their next move. Follow them on SoundCloud.

sunSETS

Serita Colette and Ryan Stopera make up the collaborative dj group, sunSETS. They share vibrations intended for BIPOC and queer communities to move freely in their bodies, discover new music, and share liberated space together.
