Youth leaders, educators, and action researchers from Nevada and New Jersey discuss ways they’ve organized in their schools and communities. First, youth leaders, action researchers, university faculty, and PK-12 educators of color discuss ways that students of color experience school to help teachers better understand them. Second, youth leaders and their educator from a robotics team will discuss how school structures creates stress, forcing students to become “paper-selves” represented by assessment scores. The panel will focus on how schools can liberate through relationship building and meeting the whole student.
