Baltimore 2017 Plenaries

Free Minds Free People 2017 will feature four plenaries and a direct action, all of which are times and spaces for large groups to come together and learn more about joyful fight for our lives.

Friday Morning Plenary will address The Love to Liberation Pipeline: Disability Justice and Solidarity with Disability Rights activists Talila Lewis and Dustin Gibson

Friday afternoon will have two concurrent plenaries. The youth-only plenary, “Shhh! It’s a secret; this government is listening!” is for FMFPers under the age of 25. Older folks are invited to the Water is Life plenary featuring Mama Lila Cabbil from Detroit, Zeiad Abbas from Palestine, and Tabor White Buffalo of the Water Protectors.

Saturday morning’s plenary, Racially Healing our Schools and Communities, will be kicked off by Shawn Ginwright and include a panel of restorative justice practitioners including Farima Pour-Korshid, Christina “V” Villareal, and Cory Greene.

Saturday afternoon we will gather to march and protest against the infringement of ICE into homes, schools, and communities. Cupcakes may be involved to power our political energy.
