Nelly Bess - George Washington Carver School/The Loud Project
Saturday 7/13/2019 - 11:15am to 12:45pm - Room: Heller 445
The language around "struggling readers stigmatizes students of color, students with disabilities, and working class children. It shames striving readers and creates unnecessary barriers. This workshop equips educators with innovative tools that infuse art education and Universal Design of Learning. Participants will get hands on experience to implement strategies in their own classrooms by putting theory into practice to support young people in their reading.
