Problem Posing, Diabetes, and Health Disparities: Taking a critical approach to science education to engage youth and community

The focus of this workshop is to examine the ways in which diabetes affects communities of color in disproportionate ways. In this workshop we will ask participants to partake in a critical analyses of diabetes and will share the way this model has been used in the classroom. We will examine diabetes through three different lenses, including biological, health disparities, and family/cultural. The student presenter will share her experience and project with participants.
