We aim to engage participants in discussing how educators can centralize mixed-raced student voices K-5, critically evaluate traditional narratives and so-called multicultural stories, and provide tools for resistance and positive identity formation using literature. Overall, we want to share ideas about how to humanize mixed-race students in our classrooms, highlighting their complex cultural experiences, realities, and families.
