Saturday, 2:15 pm to 3:45 pm -- Maryland 342

Engage in an interdisciplinary unit titled: Is Race Real? We will examine the oppressive force of race from a historical, biological, and literary standpoint. The unit helps students break free from stereotypes and harmful racial categories and affirms the identities of all students. We will also discuss, as two white teachers working with majority students of color, how we work to create open dialogue around race in our classes. Come participate in a Socratic Seminar to become familiar with the resources and methods we use in our classroom.
