Insights for Supporting Disenfranchised Latina/o Communities: MAESTR@S Walking Social Justice in Community

This session will share insights gained from MAESTR@S multi-year project to develop and implement a model of supporting Latina/o students and communities in addressing core issues such as the impact of Historical Trauma and, subsequently, Internalized Racism on their understandings of their own identities and possibilities. Our goal is to share the steps in the model and the ways it helps students, families, and teachers to develop holistic identities on a path of social justice.
