Historical Fiction Time Travel: Kindred & The Knotted Line

Evan Bissell, Liza Gesuden, Michaela Pecot
Friday, 2:15 pm to 3:45 pm -- Rm. F-204

This hands-on workshop will explore ways creative writing and historical research can produce counter-narratives of transhistorical liberation struggle. Through The Knotted Line (www.knottedline.com), an interactive, tactile timeline, participants will examine how history is often reproduced and redesigned, yet how it has potential be resisted and reimagined. Participants will be able to implement an interdisciplinary project inspired by the critical frameworks presented in Octavia Butler’s Kindred, and The Knotted Line.
