From Oscar Grant and Beyond: Justifiable Homicide reveals the practice of executing Black people without pretense of a trial, jury, or judge as an integral part of the government’s current overall strategy of containing the Black community in a state of perpetual colonial subjugation and exploitation. The facts presented in Oscar Grant case, Michael Brown grand jury hearing, Eric Garner video, Jordan Davis hung jury, and other police murders, present us with a deeper understanding of the utter disregard held for Black life within the United States, the Criminal Justice system, and the States sponsored police. The Panel will explore a cold, hard, and fact‐based view into the thinking and practice of this government and a racist Criminal Justice system that spares no cost to criminalize and justify the murder of Black lives.
