Classrooms as Spaces of Power

Friday, 11:30 am to 1:00 pm -- Maryland 242

The classroom as a place of resistance and revolution is often overlooked. What we teach and how we teach can have a profound influence not only on how young people think, but what they do and how they be in the world. The two presenters in this session share examples of powerful ways of doing and being in the classroom.

Research presented:

Using Student Feedback to Improve Teaching by Chris Seeger (teacher), Erwin Hernandez-Rodriguez (student), Kriscia Aldana (student), George Mason University

Black Liberation During the Baltimore Rebellion: Research to Action by Brian Ford, Montclair State University/Montclair High School
