Classroom as Counter-Narrative: Storytelling in the Fight for Public Schools

Saturday, 11:15 pm to 12:45 pm -- Maryland 203

Visions of public education espoused by powerful players far removed from schools and students are often in stark contrast with the realities of those in the classroom. This participatory workshop, led by contributors to the book Inside Our Schools: Teachers on the Failure and Future of Education Reform, works to provide teachers, students and parents with the tools to craft their experiences into narratives that can be mobilized in the fight for public education.
