Saturday, 11:15 am - 12:45 pm -- Rm. F-200

This workshop models and analyzes the production of fiction amongst presenters of varying disciplines that merge academia, art and social justice work. The fiction articulates the schooling experiences of black and brown girls, whereas the process of creating the fiction articulates the possibilities of transformative social justice work. In this lecture/presentation, participants will learn about the authors’ development processes and analyze the implications of black women developing work that centers the experiences of black and brown girls. This workshop is intended for educators and researchers, but is open to all professions and ages.
