Participants will explore how they can use local implementation of the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) to support their campaigns to promote equity in education and dismantle the school to prison pipeline. We will use activities and worksheets from the Engage for Ed Equity Toolkit to give participants tools for influencing district and school improvement plans to reduce suspensions, school policing and racial disparities, and prioritize funding for restorative justice practices.
